SOUTHERN BOYS: The Sons of Sharecroppers, is a new musical theatre work that tells the story of the complexities of the Reconstruction Era and what happened after African American slaves were freed by the Emancipation Proclamation.  Told from the viewpoint of sons of former slaves who have to work in the fields to help the family. They yearn for a life outside of sharecropping and decide to make a pact to leave the Mississippi Delta behind.
